In a very special and extended episode we se speak to Morley Windmills head coach, and former Belt Up Cup winning coach John O’Reilly.

One of the biggest supporters of our podcast, John tells the story of growing English and Irish in the “Garden of England” and talks about his coaching journey that took him from England to Ireland and then finally to Perth.

We talk about the evolution of football and his style of play with him drawing inspiration from the likes of Terry Butcher, Diego Simone and Arrigo Sacchi. John’s always had a desire for coaching and that desire has seen him come full circle here in Perth with his return to Morley Windmills.

We go over his coaching journey talking about his rise from Amateurs through to the NPL with spells at Ashfield, Swan, Shamrock Rovers and Armadale. We talk about the lows and the highs with the Belt Up State Cup win the cherry on a terrific coaching cake.

Just when it’s time to stop we push on and get John to name a dream 11 of NPL that he’d love to coach or has had the pleasure of coaching and John puts a sneaky recommendation for the Perth Glory.
